Why typewriter text copies and pastes everywhere
The typewriter look is monospace: every character occupies the same width, so columns line up and the text takes on the mechanical rhythm of a typebar machine. Unicode's Mathematical Monospace alphabet was encoded for code samples in technical documents, which is exactly why it suits this. It covers the full alphabet and all ten digits with no gaps — unusual among the alphabets here — so what you type is what you get, including numbers.
Typewriter font generator FAQ
Is monospace the same as a typewriter font?
Mechanically, yes: fixed-width letters are what a typewriter produced, since every typebar struck the same advance. Visually a real typewriter face also has ink spread and irregularity, which characters cannot reproduce.
Can I use this for code snippets?
For a short snippet in a bio or caption, yes. In a message or document, prefer the platform's own code formatting — it preserves indentation and stays selectable and searchable.
Does typewriter text keep its alignment?
Inside a monospace context, yes. In a proportional font the characters keep equal width among themselves, so a column of them still aligns even when the surrounding text does not.
